Mom and her Sweet Pea

week #1 of baby #1

So we have gone through our first week of full time parenting. It's been awesome. Almost everything I figured it would be some stuff I didn't expect and some stuff that hasn't happened. Yet.

Jessica has been great. She is really getting into this whole motherhood thing. All day she is all about David and still has some time leftover for me and Lucy. (But not in that order necessarily) Her mom stayed with us all week and has helped make it all happen.

David is doing awesome. Had a small bought with jaundice when we left the hospital last Sunday. We went to the doctor during the week and everything is looking fine. Just some drops every once in a while to help clear up his yellowish eyes.

Lucy is doing great with her "best friend". She is never too far away from David no matter what else is going on. Dinner might override David for now....

Dad is doing OK.  Back to work last Tuesday afternoon. I've been busy with work, home and all of the family.

All in all, everything is going really good. Great friends and family have been helping in all possible ways.

Baby Frazee #1

Jessica is about to pop anytime now. We are about 2 weeks away from the "scheduled" time, but we all know how that goes.... I wouldn't, but I'm sure most other people do. We've gotten the baby's room all together, house is mostly cleaned up and clutter free, major projects are complete. Just waiting for everything to change.

A lot of people are asking me about what name we picked for our baby boy. Truth is, the name that I feel I'm kinda obligated to, I'm not a huge fan of. Mostly for 1 reason, I didn't want to try to replace my Dad with my Son. So, about the only hint we'll put out in the public space will be that we are keeping initials only. My sad joke about keep the initials is that since a lot of my stuff has DRF on them already, it'll keep it simple in 50 years or so.... morbid I know, but heck.

In the mean time, Jessica and I are talking about a mini trip we want to take a month or so after the baby arrives. Nothing fancy, nothing cross-country, but somewhere to enjoy "Dad's Dream" for a week. Trying to figure out where to go and what to do is hard when all you have in your head is big destinations. Grand Canyon, Red Woods, anywhere Montana, is easy, but all of those are 2 week trips, not 1 week trips. Thinking of a trip up towards Wisconsin or Minnesota for a quick trip sounds doable. Maybe a trip down to west Texas....

So, as far as Baby news, hang tight. I'll put stuff here ASAP when it all goes down.

Thanks for letting me ramble.

Busy Spring of 2011

So this year has been crazy so far. I've been very busy with all sorts of stuff that seems to stack on top of each other. You know how when you have project X to complete but project X depends on project Y which depends on project G. Oh by the way, project G depends on project X!

I've gotten most of the little and big projects done that I need to have done before life changes forever. I have this admittedly odd notion that clutter = stress. I've been cleaning house on all the junk I have in the house. (project C)

So here's the run down of the stuff that I consider(ed) projects that I had to either dread, look forward to, plan around, etc.

  • Woodbadge
  • May Court of Honor
  • Customer upgrade in Hawaii (dont worry, I didnt have to travel...
  • Rebuild supporting structure for back porch
  • Craigslist of old Cisco equipment (got almost 200 bucks)
  • "Ski" Trip to Copper Mountain
  • New office furniture
  • Storage system in basement
  • New TV in bedroom
  • BSA Summer Camp
  • Family Wedding
